Finally, an updated post!

I can’t believe how long it’s been since my last blog entry. I guess that’s what having mono will do to a mother of three. It’s been about three months and I’m finally feeling better! Knock on wood, for sure, especially as we’re entering the dreaded season of Hell and Doctors’s Bills, or what is commonly known as winter.

Now, on to scrapbook stuff! At the end of September, I had the luck and pleasure to go away with my scrapbook girls; we went to a nice, secluded cabin in West Virginia and did nothing but eat, sleep, and scrap for three days. It was bliss. Bliss, I tell you. I was able to almost completely finish both of my toddlers’ albums, and I finally started a Disney album for one of our three trips. (Sidebar: Disney albums are SO. MUCH. FUN.

During our scrap weekend, my lovely and talented friend Vee Lopez-Halliday taught a workshop using Close To My Heart’s Scaredy Cat product line.  She also used CTMH’s exclusive Artbooking Cricut cartridge. Check out the awesome results below and if you’re interested in creating your own super cool Halloween pages, let me know!

I also worked on a few random layouts while at our scrapbook weekend, all of which used at least some Close to My Heart products.

  • I started some Thanksgiving pages with our Pathfinding product line. I wasn’t a huge fan of the paper pack in the catalog but when I saw the paper in person, I loved it. Check out the workshop kit on my website.  I used the Artbooking cartridge to create the arrow background, cut out the word “grateful,” and make the frame in the bottom right-hand corner.

  • I started some Christmas pages and also used theArtbookingCricut cartridge. I’m telling you, that cartridge is insane. It has designs for every occasion! I used it to cut out the images of the bells and the words “Merry Christmas,” as well as the frames around the pictures.

I did several more pages but don’t have pictures of them yet; I’ll add them in another post. I’ve been trying to get this post published for a few days but every time I write, something seems to go wrong. Links aren’t embedding properly. Pictures aren’t uploading correctly. So, I’m taking a break and I’ll add more soon!

It’s Here!

It’s finally here! The 2014-2015 Annual Inspirations Catalog is live and well! You can view the catalog by clicking here and scrolling through the pages. Now, as I’ve mentioned in previous posts, the online catalog is slightly overwhelming and flows much more smoothly in person so if you’d like to view the products, let me know!

Can you believe summer is almost over? As always, I have mixed feelings as summer draws to a close; on one hand, I’m sad to leave behind the lazy mornings, the ice-cream-for-dinner nights, and all the fun in between. On the other hand, my children are always clamoring for structure by the time August ends, which means I’m pulling out my hair to provide entertainment. My oldest is entering third grade (what??), while my two toddlers will both be going to preschool two mornings a week. For the first time in three years I will have two mornings a week to myself. That’s approximately six hours a week during which I can exercise, clean, blog, sleep, scrap, and use the bathroom all by myself.

To celebrate this momentous occasion, I am co-hosting a workshop on September 6th with a very lovely friend and fellow CTMH consultant, and we will be featuring the Chalk It Up Workshop Kit and products. These products are the perfect way to commemorate your child’s school days, whether it’s their first, last, or somewhere in between! The papers are perfect for boy or girls, which I love because it’s usually hard to find “boyish” school pages. You can look at the layouts we will be creating here and check out the various elements here and here. If you would like to attend the workshop, please let me know! If you want to attend and just bring your own things to work on, feel free to do that, also! You can contact me by leaving a comment with your email address or phone number and I will respond.

That’s all for now. As always, thanks for reading!

Welcome to My Blog!

Welcome to the first post of my blog, Growing Meadows, created and dedicated solely to my exploits as a consultant for Close To My Heart (herein and forever after known as “CTMH”). For those of you unfamiliar with the company, CTMH is a scrapbooking company in a vein similar to that of Creative Memories (prior to their becoming Ahni & Zoe). They offer a wide variety of paper scrapbooking products, kits, stamps, and tools; they also offer an online scrapbooking program called Studio J. I have yet to embrace digital scrapbooking (though with three kids and a crazy busy life, you’d think I’d be the perfect candidate, right? But I refuse!) so I honestly don’t know anything about how Studio J works but if you are interested, well, then so am I! You can check out CTMH through my personal consultant webpage, www.growingmeadows.ctmh.com.  Their catalog is entitled “Annual Inspirations,” and, while you can view it online, I will admit that it is a rather large document and somewhat confusing. I love CTMH and their products but their catalog sometimes leaves something to be desired in terms of clarity.

Speaking of their catalog, the latest and greatest Close To My Heart Annual Inspirations will be live to customers on August 1st! Consultants have already received a copy and let me tell you, there are some great things being offered! There are a bevy of new papers and kits; an entirely new line of markers; and, as always, a large array of stamps. I’m really excited to share the new catalog with you, and will post links and pics once they become available.

On a personal note, I am huge fan of the Workshop On The Go kits, which bundle everything you need to complete approximately four pages of layouts (sometimes more) into one package:  paper, cardstock, stamps, embellishments, and instructions. It’s kind of the “no-brainer” of scrapbooking, but what I love is that you can look at the instructions and say, Well, I sort of like that, but I’m going to do it this way instead. You can add your own twist and customize the layouts to your style and memories. There are a plethora of new kits being offered this year, ranging from Halloween and Christmas kits to vacation and school memories kits. As I mentioned above, I will be posting images and links once the new catalog is live, but start thinking about the fall and what you’d like to scrap (Thanksgiving pics? Halloween pics?) or make (yes, they even offer cardmaking kits for you amazingly well-organized people who send out holiday cards every year!). Think about what you are behind on and need to finish (umm, everything?!).

If you’re interested in hosting your own crop/workshop, email me at tripleamommy25@yahoo.com! Hostesses earn various rewards based on the gathering’s total sales that can then be used to purchase select products from the catalog (usually everything excluding tools, pens, and embellishments in the back of the catalog). Having a gathering is an easy, fun, and casual way to hang out with friends and get some of your much needed pages completed. It’s also a good excuse to eat chocolate.

Well, that wraps up my first blog post. Exciting, right? Thank you for supporting me on this adventure. I can’t wait to help you scrap and share all of your memories!
